+44 20 7318 1340emergencies: 0780 245 7931
Monday to Friday, 9:30–13:00 — by appointment only
💡 Appointments are booked online via Reservio (consulado-argentino-londres.reservio.com). Each area has its own email: pasaportesclond@ (passport/DNI), notarialesclond@ (powers of attorney) and [email protected] (general). Official site: clond.cancilleria.gob.ar.
Can I renew my DNI in London?
Yes — replacement, loss, change of address and the age-5-8 and age-14 updates are processed at the consulate, in person and with an appointment ([email protected]). It costs roughly £13-14, payable by debit card only. Track it at mitramite.renaper.gob.ar.
How do I send money to Argentina now the cepo is gone?
The corridor changed completely: the currency controls (cepo) were lifted on 11 April 2025 and individuals have exchange freedom. The huge gap that made the formal channel absurd no longer exists — Wise and Remitly operate UK→Argentina (Remitly from £0 fee), though Western Union pays out in pesos with a hidden spread. Always compare what arrives.
How do I get a criminal record certificate from the UK?
The Registro Nacional de Reincidencia certificate is 100% online: requested, paid and downloaded remotely (clave fiscal or Mercado Pago). The apostille is also online, via the TAD platform — no paid intermediaries.
I receive an ANSES pension — what is the fe de vida?
If you draw an Argentine pension from abroad, you must prove you're alive every six months (January-February and July-August — July is now). The consulate transmits your fe de vida to ANSES electronically. Questions: [email protected].
Is Italian citizenship still alive for great-grandchildren?
It's up in the air: the Tajani decree (March 2025) limited ius sanguinis to 2 generations (parent or grandparent born in Italy); applications filed before 27-Mar-2025 follow the old rules. The matter is before Italy's Constitutional Court — check the current state before moving any papers.
Can I vote in Argentine elections from London?
Yes, the overseas vote is optional: in person at the consulate or by post (register at padron.gov.ar). Key requirement: your DNI must show a UK address. The next national elections are the 2027 presidentials.
